During the fiscal year, supplemental budget adjustments are necessary to maintain the adopted legal level of control set forth in the 2017 Budget Ordinance.

This supplemental budget appropriation will authorize the transfer of funds in the amount of $1,000,000 from Capital Reserves to establish a new Savannah Police Precincts CIP. In accordance with the planned de-merger of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, the following actions will be supported:

1) establishment of facilities consisting of an Eastside Precinct, 2 Sub-stations, Forensics Unit and Traffic Unit operations;

2) provision of required network connectivity and technology as operationally needed;

3) completion of other miscellaneous action items related to the conversion from SCMPD to the Savannah Police Department.

The Fiscal Year 2017 Budget was approved by the City Council on December 22, 2016. Amendments to the budget were approved on April 27, 2017, and August 31, 2017.
