Title Motion to Award Design Services Contract for Lift Station 28 Force Main Extension to EMC Engineering Services, Inc. (Event No. 5403)
Description Recommend approval to procure design services from EMC Engineering Services, Inc. in the amount of $125,639.50. These services will be used to design an extension of the Lift Station 28 sanitary force main. The sanitary sewers in the Woodville/Bartow neighborhoods become surcharged during rainy conditions when Lift Station 28 pumps at maximum capacity. The proposed 4,850-linear-foot force main extension will run from Albion Street to Augusta Avenue, east of Interstate 516 and located in Aldermanic District 1. The extension will allow the lift station to pump effluent sewage past the affected gravity lines and discharge to a larger gravity main better able to carry the flow. The project will improve sanitary sewer collection in the Woodville/Bartow area. The MWBE participation goal for this project was 7% (5% MBE and 2% WBE). The recommended proposer submitted MWBE participation in the amount of 17.87%, with a breakdown of 5.41% MBE participation using Coastline Consulting and 12.46% WBE participation using Long Engineering.
