Title Motion to Amend Sections 6-1204 and 6-1206, and Add Sec. 6-1217, of the Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance to Create Special Provisions Related to Brewers and Distillers
Description Earlier this year the Georgia General Assembly passed legislation that amends regulations requiring breweries and distilleries to distribute their products through wholesalers. The new law, which goes into effect September 2017, allows breweries and distilleries to sell directly to consumers. Brewers will also no longer be required to offer paid tours that come with limited beverage samples. Amendments to Savannah's Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance are now required to avoid conflict with State law. This item received a First Reading by City Council on Aug. 17, 2017.
