Title Motion to Approve Contract Modification No. 1 for Hitch Village Phase 2 with McLendon Enterprises, Inc. (Event No. 4982)
Description Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 1 for Hitch Village Phase 2 with McLendon Enterprises, Inc. in the amount of $78,936.66. This project involves the construction of public infrastructure for the Hitch Village Redevelopment, a 26.8-acre multi-family development. The City’s contract includes the construction of all public infrastructures within the proposed rights of way. The public infrastructure is being constructed concurrent with the private development infrastructure and building construction by the Housing Authority. Phase 2 infrastructure construction is approximately 12 percent complete. The original contract was for infrastructure work for the Hitch Village Phase 2 project. This modification is needed to deduct amounts from paving, grading, and drainage as well as to add a sanitary sewer gravity system. This modification eliminates the further extension of sewer main in Phase 3. Furthermore, adding the sewer line to this phase will eliminate closing Randolph Street again when Phase 3 goes under construction. Council originally approved this contract on May 11, 2017 in the amount of $1,097,689.30. The amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $1,176,625.96.
