Title 4. Presentation on the Addition of Emergency Medical Response Services for the Savannah Fire Department |
Strategic Priority Good Government |
Description
Savannah Fire Department has added emergency medical response to services provided to the community. The department has partnered with Chatham Emergency Services and will supplement the ambulance crews on critical calls. Savannah Fire has been responding to motor vehicle accidents and has identified 12 additional call types the department responds to. This will enhance service to the community in having Savannah Fire on scene within 4 minutes (on average) of receiving the call. Savannah Fire has been preparing for this moment through increased medical training and certifications and developing a partnership with Chatham Emergency Services and Chatham County E-911 Center.
