Description Recommend approval to award an annual contract for voluntary employee vision insurance to National Vision Administration with no cost to the City. The Human Resources Department offers eligible employees and dependents access to voluntary vision insurance coverage. The estimated premium is to be paid 100% by those members who are enrolled in the insurance coverage. The vision plan with the National Vision Administration will result in a 9.9% reduction in premiums annually for members and allows for an increase in coverage for frames and contact lenses from $120 to $200 annually. This RFP was facilitated by USI Insurance Services on behalf of the City of Savannah. USI Insurance Services is the City’s employee benefits consultant that negotiates, oversees and advertises the City’s benefits contracts. This RFP was sent out to eight proposers with three proposers responding. The bid was advertised, opened, and reviewed. The contract term expires on December 31, 2022. This contract also includes three available annual renewal options and two extensions. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days. The bidders were: B.P. National Vision Administration (1200 Route 46, West Clifton, NJ 07013)(D) $No Cost Metropolitan Life Insurance (200 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10166) (D) Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (10 Hudson Yards, New York, NY 10001)(D) A pre-proposal conference was not conducted. (D) Indicates non-local, non-DBE business. Recommend approval.
