On October 9, 2024, Mayor Johnson issued an emergency declaration in anticipation of the projected impacts of Hurricane Milton on Savannah pursuant to Section 3-3003 of the City Code. On October 10, 2024, the Mayor and Aldermen were set to conduct a regularly scheduled workshop and City Council meetings. However, in an abundance of caution given the prospective impacts of Hurricane Milton, the meetings were rescheduled to October 11, 2024, and properly noticed by the Clerk of Council. The Mayor and Aldermen met on October 11, 2024, and properly attended to City business as set forth on the meeting agenda.
