Title 24. Notification of Emergency Procurement for Meals During Hurricane Dorian from Ranco Response in the Amount of $144,000 (Event No. 7443)
Strategic Priority Public Safety
Description Notification of emergency procurement for Meals During Hurricane Dorian from Ranco Response in the amount of $144,000. On September 2, 2019, Governor Kemp issued a mandatory evacuation of Chatham County. In addition, on September 3, 2019 a state of emergency was declared by the Mayor of Savannah, as the projected track of Hurricane Dorian showed it as a major threat to the life and safety of the citizens of Savannah. As the City’s human resources were deployed to help maintain the safety of its citizens and to protect property and infrastructure, it became important to provide hot, nutritious meals to the workforce at a central location. Meals were procured, on an emergency basis, from Ranco Response for a 3-day period during the event. On short notice, Ranco was able to provide the 4,800 meals including setup and delivery. This amounts to a cost of $30 per meal served.
