Title 10. Authorize the City Manager to Procure Dell Work Stations for SCADA from Dell Marketing L.P. in the Amount of $46,800 (Event No. 8091)
Strategic Priority Good Government
Description Recommend approval to procure sixty-five (65) Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) workstations from Dell Marketing LP in the amount of $46,800. The workstations are used by SCADA operations to control field equipment that monitor the Wells, Lift Stations, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and Storm Stations for the City. The new equipment increases the ability of remote sites to store more data locally, and to report back to the central site through multiple communication channels including wireless technology. The equipment is past its 4-year replacement schedule and needs to be replaced as it is starting to fail due to 24/7/365 operations. This purchase is being made through the Georgia Department of Administrative Services (Contract No. 99999-SPD-SPD0000161-0004). It was competitively bid by the State of Georgia and awarded to Dell Marketing L.P. The contract expires on June 2, 2021. Per Section 2-4154 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a state contract.
