Recommend approval of Contract Amendment No. 1 for the State Street Garage design services to Raymond Engineering in the amount of $42,000.00.

The City of Savannah’s State Street Garage, located at 100 East State Street, is experiencing water intrusion through deteriorating sealants along the top floor deck and in the stairwell. The original contract was for services to perform a field investigation and report of current conditions, provide design plans and specifications, and perform construction administration and observation of the needed repairs to the State Street Garage building envelope. 

This amendment is needed to include additional services to inspect and develop design plans and construction administration for the offices of the Metropolitan Planning Commission, which is housed on the first floor of the State Street Parking Garage. The City of Savannah leases this space to the MPC. This amendment is needed to address leaks into the MPC offices that were discovered after work began under the original design contract.

This contract was originally approved by Council on February 1, 2018 in the amount of $36,500.00.  The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $78,500.00.
