Description

This contract is for services to update the South Casey Basin drainage model with EMC Engineering in the amount of $140,000. The services provided will update the old 2011 drainage model for South Casey Basin for stormwater infrastructure for a 100-year storm. The model will be utilized to pursue a FEMA DTA BRIC grant for which time is of the essence. The BRIC grant project being proposed is the Hampstead Intercept Tunnel. The tunnel will have inlet shafts near Whitebluff Road and Hampstead Avenue with possibly a second inlet shaft on empty FEMA lots near Habersham Street and Groveland Circle. The tunnel will discharge into the Casey Canal at Bacon Park.

This project will be very similar to the Casey South Tunnel currently under design. This project will relieve recurring flooding South of Derenne in the areas of Whitebluff Road, 12 Oaks Shopping Center, and Habersham Street to Andover Drive. The grant requires us to estimate the costs and benefits of the project. The updated model will be utilized to refine flood maps and calculate damages from various events. In addition, the updated model will allow us to size the tunnel and appurtenances for a 100-year storm event. This is a sole source because EMC Engineering is the vendor who originally did the 2011 drainage model. Terms: Net 30 days. Delivery: As requested.

The vendor is:

S.S. EMC Engineering (27 Chatham Center South Dr., Suite A, Savannah, GA)(B)    $140,000
