Title 14. Second Public Hearing to Receive Comments Concerning the City’s 2024 One Year Action Plan
Strategic Priority Economic Strength And Poverty Reduction
Description The 2024 One Year Action Plan serves as the framework for the City of Savannah's allocation of federal entitlement funds and other resources. Its purpose is to address the needs of low and moderate-income residents and enhance housing, economic development, and other conditions within predominantly low-income neighborhoods. These entitlement funds encompass the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) funds. The 2024 One Year Action Plan is based on HUD program requirements, public input, Council's priorities, and stated objectives as identified in the City’s 2023-2027 Housing and Community Development Plan.
The First Public Hearing was held on July 26, 2023, at the Georgia Coastal Center and officially began the 2024 budget planning process. The Second Public Hearing follows the close of the official 30-day comment period which ended November 6. The purpose of the Second Public Hearing is to provide the public the opportunity to comment on the proposed 2024 One Year Action Plan. Following the close of the Second Public Hearing, a motion to formally adopt the 2024 One Year Action Plan appears in the resolution section of the agenda.
