This contract modification no. 1 is for the procurement of rental services for one (1) knuckle boom truck from Big Truck Rentals, in an amount not to exceed $150,000.

This modification will extend the rental agreement until March 2024. Due to global supply chain issues the delivery of new trucks that are currently on order has been pushed back to December of this year. The modification of this rental contract is aimed at maintaining the current equipment levels and ensuring the continuity of operations for the City of Savannah’s Residential Refuse Division.

The truck will be used by the City of Savannah’s Residential Refuse Division to support the weekly collection of curbside bulk items and large debris removal.

The original contract was approved by Council on August 11, 2022, for $265,680. With this modification included, the total contract amount to date is not to exceed $415,680.

Per section 2-4152 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services using a cooperative contract. The contract used for this procurement is Sourcewell contract # 091219-THC for Mobile Refuse Collection Vehicles. It was competitively bid by Sourcewell and it expires on 11/15/2023.

Approval
