Title 41. Motion to Approve Intergovernmental Agreement Concerning E-911 Backup Center at Savannah Civic Center
Strategic Priority Public Safety
Description On January 1, 2019, Chatham County will take over responsibility for maintaining a countywide E-911 system. The County has a three-year plan to design, build and operate a unified, state-of-the-art facility. To date, the current E-911 back-up center operates from the City's Command and Control Center located in a secured, underground location beneath the Civic Center. This facility provides limited 911 center functions to ensure continuous operations in the event of a disruption at the main E-911 Center. Pending completion of the County's new facility, County E-911 staff will need access to the City's back-up facility. This agreement provides for County access to the back-up site located in the Civic Center.
