Recommend approval of a close-out modification for the Placentia Canal drainage improvements with Griffin Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $2,053.

The modification includes an addition of 20 linear feet of 48” metal pipe and minor adjustments to the quantities for concrete flatwork, backfill material, erosion control, gravel drive, and fencing.

The original contract was for upgrading the existing two 72” RCP culverts under Sunset Blvd to two 10x6’ box culverts. The project also included the removal, repair, and replacement of chain link fence, installation of 122 linear feet of timber guardrail, a new vehicle barrier gate, and wooden fence, the demolition and replacement of sidewalks and curb, and the new construction of driveway aprons.

The original contract was approved by Council on April 9, 2020, in the amount of $486,140. The total amount of this contract including the final close-out modification is $488,192.
