Title Motion to Adopt Resolution Extending a 90-Day Stay on Issuance of Alcoholic Beverage Package Licenses Along Ogeechee Road
Description Residents along Ogeechee Road have expressed concerns about the density of businesses selling alcoholic beverages by the package along the Ogeechee Road corridor. As a result, on August 31, 2017, City Council adopted a Resolution for a 90-day stay on the issuance of new licenses in order to allow the City Manager to research and propose revisions to the zoning code. The stay impacts all real property facing Ogeechee Road between the centerline of Anderson Street and the centerline of Victory Drive. The resolution does not apply to any person who has applied for a license to sell alcohol by the package prior to the date of the enactment of this resolution. City and MPC staff continue to work on the proposed change to the Zoning Ordinance, and a 90-day extension of this stay is requested to allow for completion. If approved, the stay will expire on February 18, 2018.
