Title
13. Motion to Amend the Stormwater Management Ordinance to Update Language to Match State Regulations and to Codify Existing Policies
Strategic Priority
Infrastructure
Description

First reading of this proposed ordinance amendment was heard by City Council during the Meeting of November 5, 2018. This is the second and final reading.

Revision of the Stormwater Management Ordinance is necessary to update language and definitions to match those in the City's Municipal Separate Stormwater System (MS-4) Permit, which is issued by the State of Georgia, and to correct some typographic errors. Several additions codify existing policies concerning service delivery and defined limits of service. These additions include:

  • Driveway and walkway culverts will not be installed, repaired, or otherwise maintained by the City
  • Legal right of entries via legally recorded perpetual rights of way are required to perform maintenance
  • Natural tidal streams that have not traditionally and routinely been maintained by the City shall not be maintained
  • The City shall not maintain private or non-public stormwater structures
