Title 36. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute the First Renewal of an Annual Contract with Mississippi Lime for Hydrated Lime in the Amount of $256,157 (Event No. 6413)
Strategic Priority Good Government
Description Recommend approval to authorize the City Manager to execute the first renewal of an annual contract with Mississippi Lime for hydrated lime in the amount of $256,157. The Public Works and Water Resources Department uses approximately 1,100 tons of hydrated lime per year. The lime is used for finished water pH control, and in the treatment of alkalinity control. Specific pH criteria are given by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division for drinking water. A proper alkalinity is required to adequately treat raw water into finished water. The DBE goal for this event was waived due to the absence of subcontracting opportunity. This is the first of three renewal options available. The contract term shall be January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
