The Coastal Workforce Development Board (CWDB) is recommending approval to modify the PY2019 WIOA Eckerd Connects-Paxen Youth Services Sub-award for Camden, Glynn, and McIntosh counties to include increased funding in the amount of $50,641 to provide work experience opportunities to 30 additional participants and to fund a new support staff position to provide programmatic support.

On August 29, 2019, the City Council accepted the WIOA Youth Program grant funds to provide year round services to low-income youth between the ages of 16 and 24 for the ten-county region: Bryan, Bulloch, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh and Screven counties.

Pursuant to the WorkSource Coastal Consortium Agreement, the City of Savannah serves as the fiduciary agent for the 10-county region, and as such, City Council approval and authorization for the City Manager to receive grant funding and enter into grant administration agreements is necessary in accordance with the City of Savannah's procurement policies and procedures.
