Description
The Commission on Professional Credentialing is a credentialing program of The Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE). CPSE helps high-performing fire departments and emergency services professionals in their efforts to continuously improve. The program recognizes individuals who demonstrate their excellence in seven components: experience, education, professional development, professional contributions, association membership, community involvement, and technical competence. The Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation program uses a comprehensive peer review model to evaluate candidates seeking the credential. The Commission on Professional Credentialing awards the designation only after an individual succesfully meets all of the organization's stringent criteria.
On June 7, 2022, Chief Elzie Kitchen successfully completed the process that awards the designation of Chief Fire Officer and was confered the designation. By completing this, Chief Kitchen has become one in only 1,710 CFOs worldwide. This professional designation is valid for three years.
