On May 19, 2019, The Savannah Philharmonic, Edgemere/Sackville Neighborhood Association, and the City of Savannah are once again teaming up to host “Philharmonic in the Streetz.”  The event will take place in the neighborhood park located at the intersection of Cedar Street and DeLesseps Avenue, between 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.  This is second year of the collaboration between the Savannah Philharmonic, the City of Savannah and the Edgemere/Sackville Neighborhood Association: A Savannah Shines Neighborhood.

Open to all and designed to celebrate community, “Philharmonic in the Streetz” will be emceed by WTOC’s Cyreia Sandlin and will feature Philharmonic musicians performing on an outdoor stage.  Live musician performances will include Laiken Love and the Fellowship of Love, the well-known all-female four-piece ensemble Celli, and students from DeRenne Middle School and Myers Middle School. Magic Marc will entertain children and young-at-heart with magic tricks and activities. Leopold’s will provide complimentary ice cream, and food from Latin Chicks will be available for purchase. The event is sponsored by WTOC.

Philharmonic in the Streetz is unique in its blurring of lines between audience and musician; the crowd becomes a part of the show when guests are encouraged to dance, sing along, and...occasionally invited to join the musicians on stage.  Attendees can expect to hear everything from classical masterpieces, to blues, jazz and pop numbers.
