Title 35. Approval to Authorize the City Manager to Extend an Intergovernmental Agreement with Chatham County for Use of City Property, Located at 2203 Abercorn Street (for A Multi-Agency Resource Center)
Strategic Priority Good Government
Description Chatham County has requested an extension of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) providing use of the City-owned property located at 2203 Abercorn Street. The facility is being used as the MARC (Multi-Agency Resource Center) by a coalition of government and non-profit partners to facilitate a juvenile intervention program known as the Front Porch. The IGA was approved by City Council and commenced on July 9, 2018 for a term of three (3) years, expiring on July 16, 2021. Per the agreement, the City provides use of the facility and the County incurs all operating expenses, minor repairs and maintenance. A one-year extension would allow the Front Porch to continue at the location until July 16, 2022 and give the County more time to find an alternative, permanent home for the program.
