Housing proposed for this land parcel is part of the phased Savannah Gardens neighborhood revitalization plan initiated in 2007 by the non-profit CHSA Development, Inc. and the City of Savannah. This development has replaced 380 blighted Strathmore Estates apartments with new single-family, duplex and multi-family housing for sale and rent. It also includes new public infrastructure and parks that connect adjoining neighborhoods. The 11 single-family owner-occupied houses proposed for this land parcel replace 16 originally planned apartments. Savannah Gardens will have about 524 apartments and 91 new single-family owner-occupied homes when complete.
