Description
On February 22, 2021, staff submitted a grant application to the Federal Aviation Administration to request funding under the Airport Coronavirus Response Grant Program (ACRGP). The purpose of this grant is to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus. Funds provided must only be used for purposes directly related to the airport. These purposes can include the reimbursement of an airport’s operational and maintenance expenses, or debt service payments. New airport development projects not directly related to combating the spread of pathogens and approved by the FAA for such purposes may not be funded with this grant. Funds provided under the Grant will be governed by the same principles that govern “airport revenue”. The grant was awarded on April 13, 2021 and has been signed by Chairman Green, City of Savannah Manager Brown, and Commission Attorney Stillwell.
