Title 8. Notification of an Emergency Purchase for a Water Main Leak Repair with EA Tapping Services in the Amount of $48,500 ( Event No. 8425)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Notification of an emergency procurement for water leak repair from EA Tapping Services(D) in an amount of $48,500. This service was an emergency because the leak is on an old 36’ water main which services both East and West Savannah. To perform the repair, City Water Distribution had to install a new 36’ valve at West Gwinnett Street and east of MLK Jr. Blvd. This was done to prevent shut-out in a large section of the City water distribution system in the Historic Section. These services were done to assure drinking water quality and adequate system pressure to the residents of Savannah. The existing valve broke open and required the installation of 36’ line stops to avoid water distribution system shut-out. Without the installation, it could result in extreme flooding of Whitaker Street and Forsyth Park. EA Tapping Services, LLC. (Apopka, FL)(D) $48,500 (D) Indicates non-local, non-DBE business
