Recommend approval to procure 36 headsets and accessories from SRT Supply Company, Inc. in the amount of $42,010.20.

The equipment will be used by the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Teams. The requested equipment would replace existing non-functioning equipment to provide situational awareness and threat identification while increasing personal safety when dealing with barricaded suspects, hostage situations, and other tactical incidents as required in law enforcement operations. This equipment will enhance the officers’ capability of clearly communicating while operating in dangerous environments and improve officers’ survivability as well as protect lives.

The apparent low bidder did not meet specifications as it only provided a 90-day or 12-month warranty. The specifications stated that a three-year warranty was required.
