| Title 29. Approval to Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Third Amendment to a Lease with American Tower Corporation to Support Public Safety Related Services | |

| Description The City leases tower space at 500T Strachan Avenue from American Tower Corporation for placement of public safety communications equipment. The private tower is located south of the Truman Parkway near Whitfield Avenue. There is not a City or County tower facility in this area of the Southside, necessitating space be leased from American Tower. The City has leased space on this tower since July 1996. The Third Amendment keeps the rental amount at the current rate of $1,600 per month for a total annual cost of $19,200. Upon March 1 of each renewal year, a 3% annual escalator will apply. The Third Amendment provides for an initial twelve-year Extension Term, with four optional four year renewal terms. This matter has been reviewed by Real Estate, Information Technology Department, and the City Attorney’s Office. | |
