March 24, 2022 City Council Regular Meeting |
Title 25. Approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement with Chatham County for Computer-Aided Dispatch Services, in the Amount of $337,460. |
Strategic Priority Good Government |
Description
The CAD system is an integrated platform that combines multiple law enforcement services to streamline police and emergency communications. The current CAD system is six years old and will be due for upgrades in 2024. However, the County has proposed to allow the Airport to use its CAD agreement and share the costs of licensing. Migrating to the County’s system will enable the Airport to be on the same platform as the County and other local municipalities. A shared system will also allow standardized communications between the entities that occupy the future Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The agreement is for five years and will start on June 30, 2023.
