Title 11. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract Renewal for Filter Belts (Used in the Dewatering Process of Sludge at the Water Plants) with Clear Edge Filtration for up to $34,424 (Event No.7332)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for filter belts with Clear Edge Filtration in the amount of $34,424. This contract will be used by the Public Works and Water Resources Department for the separation of solids and liquids in the dewatering process of sludge at the President Street and Regional Plant locations. The filters are stretched along a belt press and travel through a series of rollers which compress the sludge, removing water that maybe be trapped in the sludge that was not drained during the gravity draining zone. This allows each water plant to transport “dried solids” versus liquid sludge to the landfill. This Contract was originally approved on October 24, 2019. This the first of three renewal options available. Clear Edge Filtration(D) (D) Indicates non-local, non-DBE owned business.
