Title 28. Motion to Approve Contract Modification No. 1 for Gate and Tapping Valves Contract with Consolidated Pipe & Supply (Event No. 5491)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 1 for the gate and tapping valves contract to Consolidated Pipe & Supply in the amount of $15,589.15. The gate and tapping valves are required throughout the existing water distribution system and are used by the Public Works and Water Resources Department to control water flows. These valves allow connections for new developments without having to interrupt services already being provided to citizens and commercial customers. This contract was originally approved by Council on January 4, 2018 for a total amount of $122,839.29, of which $78,132.40 was awarded to Consolidated Pipe & Supply, $30,802.00 was awarded to Core & Main (formerly HD Supply Waterworks, Ltd.), and $13,904.89 was awarded to Ferguson Waterworks. This contract modification is necessary because Ferguson Waterworks has declined the portion of the contract awarded to it. The Public Works and Water Resources Department now recommends awarding these items to Consolidated Pipe & Supply, the second lowest bidder meeting the specification requirements for these items. The original award amount to Consolidated Pipe & Supply was $78,132.40. The requested modification is for $15,589.15, for a total award amount of $93,721.55 to this vendor. The total contract amount to date, including this modification, is $124,523.55.
