Title Motion to Authorize City Manager to Sign Consent Order Agreement with Georgia Environmental Protection Division | |
Description The City of Savannah has received a Consent Order from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division concerning non-compliance of the State Water Quality Rules due to discharges by an industrial customer to the Crossroads Wastewater Treatment Plant from December 2016 through February 2017. Non-compliance included the parameters of total suspended solids, carbonaceous biochemical oxygen demand, and fecal coliform. The City has worked with the industrial customer to prevent further non-compliant discharges and ensure the City remains in compliance with its permit. The City of Savannah has already complied with the corrective actions as specified in the Consent Order. The Consent Order also includes a monetary compromise and settlement of the identified violations in the amount of $20,000. This cost will be passed on to the industrial customer. | |
