Notification of Procurement of Metal Detectors from Garrett Security (Event No. 5150)
Description

Notification of procurement of 10 metal detectors from Garrett Security in the amount of $35,095.00. The Savannah Civic Center is host to numerous meetings and major events and is responsible for the protection of patrons. Metal detectors were purchased to provide additional security as a means to heighten safety protocols and prevent a potential disaster during major events. In an effort to provide the safest environment possible, individuals are scanned for any type of metal, including weapons and other items.

The detectors are used for major events in the arena and theater or at the request of customers who have smaller conferences but want the added measure of security for attendees. Ten metal detectors were purchased to be used at the east and west entrances of the building. The metal detectors are also requested by clients for events that are non-ticketed and a rental fee is charged for the use of the equipment during those events.  

Quotes were received from three vendors, and Garrett Security submitted the lowest price and was selected as the vendor.
