Title 25. Motion to Procure Ultraviolet Disinfection (UV) Equipment from Templeton and Associates (Event No. 6177)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval to procure ultraviolet disinfection (UV) equipment from Templeton and Associates in the amount of $81,144.00. The ultraviolet disinfection (UV) equipment will be used by Water Reclamation as a primary mechanism for the destruction of pathogenic organisms to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases to the environment and downstream users. The effectiveness of the ultraviolet (UV) equipment depends solely on the intensity of the ultraviolet radiation. The initial equipment has been in place for 15 years. The lamps are enclosed and safe in quartz sleeves and submerged according to water flow. The lamps are attached to a stainless steel frame which houses all the wiring. This is an environmentally friendly and safe upgrade that is needed to keep in compliance with State regulations. This is a sole source because the ultraviolet disinfection (UV) equipment works with the existing Trojan UV equipment.
