Recommend approval to award an annual contract for roofing materials to Southern Roof Center in the estimated amount of $136,111.70.  Contractors and volunteer organizations will install the roofing material on homes owned by low-income, mainly elderly, Savannah homeowners as part of the Housing & Neighborhood Services Department’s Summer Home Repair Program.  The Department matches volunteer organizations with homes needing repair.   The volunteer organizations provide the labor, while the City provides the supplies and coordination.  Using this partnership, the City leverages significant private investment to improve nearly 100 homes each year, improving living conditions for our most vulnerable citizens. 

No DBE goal was established for this event due to the absence of subcontracting opportunity.

The contract term shall be from June 6, 2019 through December 31, 2019.
