Description
This is for a Final Project Close-out Amendment for the Facilities at 8 Interchange Court with Johnson-Laux Construction Inc. (Savannah, GA)(A) in the amount of $82,179.64.
The original contract included the renovation of the City facility located at 8 Interchange Court which previously housed Greenscapes and is being upgraded for the use of Fleet Services (relocated operations from City Lot). The planned renovation consists of adjusting the existing floor plan to accommodate the needs of Fleet Services to include upgrading the existing restrooms, removal and replacement of all flooring, repainting the walls, replacing ceiling tile, upgrading the HVAC system, upgrading the security access to all exterior doors, replacing the existing lights with LED lights, upgrading the overhead doors in the maintenance bay to accommodate larger vehicles, and upgrading the bays to meet the needs of Fleet Services. Existing maintenance equipment will be relocated from City Lot to the new facility and any equipment that cannot be transferred will be replaced.
This contract modification is needed to cover costs associated with various credits, added costs due to unforeseen conditions, constructability items, clarification in plans, and owner requested changes. Credit items include reducing the exterior siding replacement, cleaning and repairing gutters rather than replacement, reducing the number of floor drains, reducing sewer utility connections and electrical installation, among others. Items associated with an increase in cost include unforeseen additional asbestos remediation, relocation of underground utility lines, installation of a CO2 monitoring system, upgrading the electrical power coming to the building from single-phase to three-phase, increasing the size of an overhead door, and the addition of a shop sink.
This contract was originally approved by Council on August 26, 2021, in the amount of $1,247,355.95. This final project close-out amendment is in the amount of $82,179.64. The total amount of this contract to date including this amendment is $1,329,535.59.
