Title Motion to Procure Cart Tippers from Consolidated (Event No. 5146) | |
Description Recommend approval to procure 14 cart tippers from Consolidated, DBA Wastebuilt, in the amount of $37,375.80. The cart tippers will be factory-installed on the new rear loader refuse trucks. The rear loaders will be used by the Residential Refuse Department refuse collection program to maintain daily routes throughout the City. The program promotes community health and aesthetics. The cart tippers improve productivity, increase efficiency and provide safer work conditions for Residential Refuse Department employees and City citizens. Two cart tippers will be installed on each of the seven replacement rear loader refuse trucks that have reached the end of their useful lifecycle and are no longer cost effective to maintain. Council approved the procurement of the rear loader refuse truck chassis (Event No. 3996) and bodies (Event No. 4110) on March 16, 2017. Quotes were received from two bidders. Consolidated, DBA Wastebuilt submitted the low bid, at a cost of $2,669.70 per cart tipper. | |
