| Description This contract is for one waste handler dozer from Yancey Bros. Co. in the amount of $629,832. The waste handler dozer will be utilized by the Sanitation Department’s Refuse Disposal Division to spread, push, and compact garbage at the Dean Forest landfill. It will also be used to spread soil cover over garbage, as required by state regulation, and to compact the cover soil to reduce the potential for erosion. The dozer is utilized seven days a week and is essential to the landfill operations. The new dozer will replace unit 8717, which is scheduled for replacement in the FY25 equipment replacement plan.
Per Section 2-4152 of the City’s purchasing ordinance, the City is authorized to purchase goods or services through a cooperative contract. The contract used for this procurement is Sourcewell Contract # 011723-CAT, for purchasing heavy construction equipment, which expires on April 14, 2027. Delivery: As requested. Terms: Net 30 days.
