The City of Savannah's Recreation and Leisure Services Department is proud to recognize a remarkable group of young athletes who represented our community at the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) Class A State Track & Field Meet held on April 25 in Henry County, Georgia. Competing against some of the top youth athletes from the state, The City of Savannah had an outstanding showing, with athletes demonstrating exceptional sportsmanship and competitive excellence throughout the event. Their performance included multiple podium finishes, including several first-place titles. Competing against some of the top youth athletes from across the state, Savannah's track and field team displayed outstanding dedication and athletic achievement. Through months of training, discipline, and hard work, these young competitors earned multiple podium finishes, including several State Championship titles.
Their accomplishments reflect not only their individual talent, but also the support of their families, coaches, and mentors who have helped guide them along the way. These athletes serve as excellent examples of the positive impact that youth recreation programs can have on developing confidence, teamwork, perseverance, and leadership.
The City of Savannah is committed to providing opportunities that help young people reach their full potential, and today we celebrate these student-athletes for representing our city with excellence both on and off the track.
