| Title 1. Public Hearing on 2026 Property Tax Millage Rate | |
| Strategic Priority GOAL 6: Always Be a High-Performing Government | |
| Description The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah have tentatively adopted a 2026 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 3.0 percent. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the City Hall Council Chambers, located on the corner of Bay and Bull Streets, Savannah, GA on the following dates: July 9, 2026, 6:00 pm August 13, 2026, at 11:00 am August 13, 2026, at 2:00 pm This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 11.749 mills, an increase of 0.347 mills over the 2026 rollback rate. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 11.402 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $375,000 is approximately $52.05 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $925,000 is approximately $128.39. | |
