Motion to Procure Police Interceptors from Wade Ford (Event No. 5133)
Recommend approval to procure 55 Ford Police Interceptors from Wade Ford Inc., in the amount of $1,542,860.00. The Interceptors will be used by the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) to replace units that have reached the end of their useful life and are no longer economical to repair.
Vendors were requested to provide pricing for the Police Interceptors as specified, as well as cost for six options to enhance operator safety. The lowest bidder provided a total bid of $1,550,615.00; however, this bid includes pricing for all six options. After a thorough review, SCMPD elected to add the options highlighted in the chart below. The two options not selected were deemed unnecessary, as the options selected would provide the enhanced operator safety that SCMPD was striving to obtain.
