July 6, 2017 City Council Regular Meeting (Amended July 5, 2017)
Title Motion to Approve 90-Day Stay on Hotel Development in the Downtown Area
Description On April 13, 2017, City Council approved a Resolution imposing a 90-day delay in the processing of permits and applications, applicable to specific areas of the City of Savannah, to bar acceptance or receipt by the City’s agencies and departments of any new applications for zoning changes, building permits, Certificates of Appropriateness and other approvals from the Historic Board of Review, and other permits, licenses or variances needed for development of new hotels within such area. City staff continues to work on a Text Amendment to bring before Council. Should Council wish to extend this stay on hotel development in the downtown area, passage of a new Resolution is necessary.
