Title 39. Motion to Procure Playground Equipment for Windsor Neighborhood Park from Dominica Recreation Products (Event No. 6024)
Strategic Priority Neighborhood Revitalization
Description Recommend approval to procure playground equipment from Dominica Recreation Products in the amount of $49,705.16. The playground equipment will be installed at the Windsor Neighborhood Park to enhance the park. Parks are an essential element to quality of life and can provide many health benefits. A new neighborhood park has been planned for the Windsor Forest Neighborhood near the intersection of Woodley and Linwood roads. The park is approximately 6 acres and is comprised of once-developed lots that endured repeated flooding in the 1990s. The properties were purchased by the City with the use of FEMA grant dollars and have restrictions in place allowing only limited use. The method used for this procurement was the request for proposals which evaluates criteria in addition to cost. The criteria used to evaluate this proposal were proposer’s qualifications and experience, project approach, references, fees, and local vendor participation.
