Title 44. Motion to Approve 3rd Amendment to Lease at 1900 Victory Drive Suite B5 | |

Description The Savannah Police Department Unit, Office of Professional Standards (a.k.a. Internal Affairs), is currently located at 601 East 66th Street (Paulsen Municipal Building). This City-owned facility is under contract to be sold, and as a result, the Internal Affairs Unit requires relocation. The City leases space, for no monthly rental cost, at the McAlpin Shopping Center located at 1900 Victory Drive, Suite B-5. Current usage is a Police Sub-station, although this space is underutilized due to the close proximity of the new Eastside Precinct. Staff recommends moving Internal Affairs into this space as a cost-effective solution to their space needs. Renovation will be necessary, which will be brought before City Council at a future date. Presently, the lease of this property ends on July 31, 2020. Staff has negotiated an additional three years above and beyond the current lease expiration, also at no monthly rental cost. A Third Amendment to the Lease Agreement has been drafted and ensures the City possession until July 31, 2023. | |
