Description
The Site Clearing Areas T, U, V and Parking Improvements Project is currently under construction by Reeves Construction Company. This project budgeted for seal coating the existing SAV Value Lot ($5.00 lot), however, after additional investigation, it was determined that milling the cracking asphalt and overlaying it with 1.5-inches of new asphalt surface course is the best course of action. Milling and re-surfacing will extend the life of the existing SAV Value Lot by approximately twenty (20) years, whereas the seal coat option will only extend the life for seven (7) years. As the Contractor is already mobilized at this location, the cost to mill and resurface now is substantially less than re-bidding and re-mobilizing a contractor in seven (7) years when the seal coat life has expired. The price of Change Order No. 2 incorporates the deletion of the Seal Coat budget item.
