Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 1 to Savannah Construction and Preservation in the amount of $18,129.65 and for a 30-calendar-day extension.

The original contract was for the construction of a pedestrian sidewalk on one side of Coffee Bluff Road between Back Street and Coffee Pointe Drive. Also included in the project was the construction of three pedestrian crosswalks with rectangular rapid flashing beacons at Coffee Point Drive, Coffee Bluff Villa Drive, and Rose Dhu Road.

This contract modification is the result of the final adjustment of contract quantities of items exceeding contract quantities due to additional scopes of work that were not part of the original contract. The modifications to complete the work included demolitions and disposal of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, and driveways. These modifications also added 30 calendar days to the original contract time of 180 calendar days. The project was completed on April 27, 2017.

The original contract was approved by Council on May 12, 2016, in the amount of $280,985.12. The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $299,114.77.
