Recommend approval to award an annual contract for fire truck tires to Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in the amount of $96,915.00. The fire truck tires are emergency rated tires and will be utilized by the Vehicle Maintenance Department to replace tires on a fire apparatus in need of replacement due to normal wear and tear.

Savannah Fire and Emergency Services (SFES) utilizes the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1911 guidelines for fire truck maintenance and repairs. NFPA 1911 requires that emergency rated tires be installed on a fire apparatus.  The emergency rated tires will ensure compliance with NFPA 1911, which contributes to the City’s ISO-1 rating.
