Notification of an emergency procurement of a 16-inch EZ valve from Consolidated Pipe and Supply Company, Inc. in the amount of $29,000.  The item being purchased will be used by the Public Works and Water Resources Department to replace the 16-inch water main on Abercorn Street and East 66^th Street.  The specific purchase was for the installation of a 16-inch EZ insertion valve which was needed to make the repair on the water main after the Georgia DOT contract cut through the top of this shallow, oversized water main as they were in the process of removing asphalt and concrete during the resurfacing of State Route 204.  The installation of this valve minimized the number of homes with service disruption to make the repair.  The vendor was selected due to its immediate availability.
