Recommend approval of Contract Amendment No. 1 for the design services contract for City facilities at Interchange Court to Hussey, Gay, Bell, & DeYoung in the amount of $98,007.50. 

The original contract was for design services to relocate facilities at City Lot to Interchange Court. The amendment is needed to include the following additional design services:

• Gravity sewer line extension to serve existing City facilities on Interchange Court
• Left turn lane on westbound Gwinnett Street for access to the new facilities and safer travel 
• Effluent sanitary sewer force main serving the project along a revised route
• Fully enclosed storage warehouse
• Deep-pile foundations

Council originally approved this contract on June 8, 2017 in the amount of $1,705,787.00. The total amount of this contract to date, including this amendment, is $1,803,794.50. The second highest ranked proposer, Southern A&E, LLC, submitted a proposal price of $1,461,538.00. This amendment could not have been foreseen by any proposer.

This project is funded utilizing SPLOST VI funds.
