Description The Chatham County – Savannah Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) facilitated the update of the Chatham County Service Delivery Strategy (SDS) which a component of the Chatham County - Savannah Comprehensive Plan. The current SDS Agreement that was approved by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs on December 13, 2016, is set to expire on October 31, 2026. Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 36-70-20, the SDS must be updated or extended.
Over the last several months, City of Savannah staff have met with all of the jurisdictions in Chatham County to discuss the following services currently being delivered throughout Chatham County:
The final SDS must be transmitted to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for the State’s final review and approval of the process. Attached is a resolution to approve the attached SDS and extend the existing service delivery strategy agreement until October 31, 2026. This resolution will also authorize the Mayor to execute a Georgia Department of Community Affairs Form 4 Certification for extension of Savannah’s existing SDS. | |
