The New Directors Academy is a leadership development opportunity within the City of Savannah that focuses on creating professional development for recently appointed and|or interim Assistant Directors, Directors, SPD Captains/Lieutenants, and SFD Battalion Chiefs. In 2025, three spots were also opened to CMELA alums to participate and further develop as emerging leaders. This provides a unique opportunity for leadership-focused, city employees, who aspire to pursue an Assistant Director and above role with the city to learn about the required skills and competencies necessary to thrive in those roles.
